It’s an ambitious but complicated move for Chelsea F.C. to target Aleksandar Pavlović from FC Bayern Munich.

Here’s how it looks from a football and transfer-market perspective.

Why Chelsea would want Pavlović 🔵

1. He fits Chelsea’s recruitment model

Chelsea’s ownership has focused on young, high-ceiling players they can build around long-term. Pavlović is:

is:

•technically excellent

•calm in possession

•tactically intelligent as a deep midfielder

At 21, he fits perfectly into the long-term project.

2. Profile Chelsea still lack

Chelsea have plenty of midfielders, but Pavlović offers something specific:

•elite build-up passing

•ability to control tempo

•strong positional discipline

That’s closer to a classic deep playmaker/No.6 profile.

Why Bayern probably won’t sell 🚫

For FC Bayern Munich, Pavlović is basically home-grown gold.

Reasons they’ll resist selling:

•He came through Bayern’s academy system.

•He’s already a Germany international.

•Bayern rarely sell young core players unless the price is astronomical.

A €100m asking price is likely a deterrent rather than a real valuation.

Why the transfer seems unlikely

1. Player preference

Reports say Pavlović wants to stay in Munich. If that’s true, the deal becomes very difficult.

2. Bayern’s financial position

Unlike some clubs, Bayern don’t need to sell key players.

3. Chelsea’s midfield depth

Chelsea already have several expensive midfielders, so spending €100m+ on another would be a massive commitment.

Could it still happen? 🤔

It would probably require three things:

Pavlović losing a starting role at Bayern

Chelsea making a huge bid (€100m+)

The player becoming open to leaving

Right now, none of those conditions seem likely.

✅ My take:

This feels more like early scouting interest than a realistic transfer. Chelsea monitor dozens of players like this every year. Unless something changes at Bayern, Pavlović looks like a long-term cornerstone in Munich, not a likely Chelsea signing.

⚽ One interesting question though:

If Chelsea were to spend €100m on a midfielder, would Pavlović actually be the best target — or do you think they should go for someone like Florian Wirtz instead?
