It’s an intriguing Champions League qualifier because the teams appear quite evenly matched on paper, despite coming from leagues with different profiles. Recent previews also suggest there’s no overwhelming favorite.
My view:
- Hapoel Be’er Sheva have more experience in European competitions and generally face stronger opposition over the course of a season. That experience can be valuable in two-legged ties.
- Víkingur Reykjavík have a strong home record, are in the middle of their domestic season (so should be match-fit), and the artificial pitch in Reykjavík can be an advantage against visiting teams.
