Chelsea vs Tottenham Hotspur
I thought it was a classic chaotic Chelsea–Spurs derby: tense, physical, and full of pressure because both clubs had a lot riding on it. Chelsea F.C. deserved the 2–1 win overall, mainly because they controlled the midfield better and looked more composed in key moments. Enzo Fernández was the standout for me — his goal and assist basically decided the game.
For Spurs, it felt like the same recurring problem: moments of urgency without enough sustained control. Tottenham Hotspur F.C. improved after going 2–0 down, and Richarlison gave them hope with the goal, but defensively they still looked vulnerable whenever Chelsea transitioned quickly.
One thing that stood out tactically was Chelsea’s balance. Even during Spurs’ late push, Chelsea never looked completely panicked. Their back line handled the pressure better than in some earlier matches this season, and players like Jorrel Hato made important defensive interventions late on.
From a bigger-picture perspective:
- Chelsea looked like a team rebuilding confidence.
- Spurs looked like a team playing with anxiety because of the relegation pressure.
And honestly, Stamford Bridge continues to be a horrible place for Spurs historically.
