KS Górnik Zabrze vs AS Monaco
My opinion ⚽
I lean towards AS Monaco, but I don’t think it will be an easy away game.
- Górnik’s advantage: They are at home and have started strongly domestically. Monaco’s own goalkeeper Lukáš Hradecký specifically highlighted Górnik’s good start and their strong home record.
- Górnik’s concern: They’ve already been knocked out of Champions League and Europa League qualifying, so this is their third European route this season.
- Monaco’s concern: This is their first competitive match of the season, and they have some attacking absences, including Takumi Minamino and Ansu Fati.
- The market has Monaco as clear favourites, with one current market showing roughly 1.55 Monaco / 4.30 draw / 5.50 Gornik
For a more conservative approach, Monaco X2 looks much more attractive to me than taking the straight Monaco win. It’s a two-legged tie, so Monaco may also be happy to manage the game rather than go all-out for a big away victory. UEFA confirms the return leg is next week
