I’m leaning toward a pretty comfortable win for Madrid (though there are a few caveats).
✅ Why I expect a Real Madrid win
Head-to-head & history strongly favour Los Blancos. Real Madrid have dominated this fixture for years — many recent wins, especially at home.
Home form is excellent. At the Santiago Bernabéu this season, Madrid have looked strong: scoring regularly and not dropping many points.
Momentum is back. After their recent convincing win vs Athletic Bilbao, their morale and attacking fluidity seem rejuvenated — which matters before a mid-season crunch.
Celta’s inconsistency and defensive issues. Celta Vigo haven’t been overly convincing this season: they’ve struggled away sometimes and tend to concede just as often as they score.
⚠️ What might make it closer (or give Celta a chance)
Madrid’s defensive absences/injuries: A few regular defenders are out or doubtful, which could give Celta some hope to break through.
Celta’s counter-attack / set-piece threat: While not consistent, Celta can catch sides off-guard if Madrid are sloppy — especially if Madrid push high and leave space behind.
Possibility of goals on both sides: Some previews suggest “both-teams-to-score” has value, meaning Madrid win but Celta might get on the board too.
